Love and Monsters - Hell Crab

The Hell Crab had changed a few times, I had drawn a few versions, this one was my favourite though, I am glad this design was used in the film. This guy came across really well in VFX which was awesome to see.

I was lucky enough to Illustrate Joel Dawson's Monster Journal V1 & V2 on Love and Monsters. Working for Director Michael Matthews and Production Designer Dan Hennah was a pleasure. I illustrated well over 100 pages for the two journals, sadly many pages were not shown in the film. Aside from the main Hero creatures which had developing concept art, I was given the freedom to create a visual story within the journals themselves exploring how the world and creatures would have changed over time.
